The whole prayer
I used a small Gideonite bible and ripped the pages out and glued them down as a background. The whole of the New Testament is under this painting. Then I used alphabet masks and stencils to do the writing. I picked out several key words which appear in the other five paintings and painted them in gold paint. The smaller letters I outlined with Inktense pencils which are permanent when they have been wetted and then dried.

Our Father
Here I also used photocopies of the bible as a ground then used gelliprints and tissue paper, which I then painted over. The gold lettering is done with gold leaf, and the words are in Hebrew, Greek and English.

Thy kingdom come
Thy will be done. Here again, after a layer of bible photocopies I used brightly coloured gelliprints to represent heaven with some gold leaf in between, the gold leaf arrow represents God's will on earth, and the cracks in the pavement which are brightly coloured are representing God's kingdom permeating the earth

Give us this day
our daily bread. Another layer of bible photocopies, then tissue paper, then paint on top. The bible represents something Jesus said ("Man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God"), gold leaf on the text .

Forgive us
our trespasses as we forgive them that trespass against us. Bible photocopies as a base then paint on top and gold leaf as a cross behind and on the text.

Lead us
not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Bible photocopies as a base and then paint on top. Under the jetty where the girl is sitting I've used a lot of structure medium to represent both temptation and evil. the gold leaf rope around her waist is the prayer she has just prayed, keeping her safe.
